Tour Overview
1. Discovery Garden
Our tour begins in our comfortable coach buses as we travel through picturesque farmlands and arrive at our first destination – The Discovery Garden of the Skagit Valley Master Gardener Foundation. This will be your first glimpse of the colorful blooms that will greet you when we arrive at the tulip fields.
Spanning 1.5 acres, Discovery Garden features 30+ themed gardens, including a Japanese Garden, Children’s Garden, and vibrant splashes of spring color all connected by ADA-accessible paths. Docents will escort you through each display as you take in Skagit Valley’s local beauty.
2. Master Gardener
On our tour, a WSU Skagit County Master Gardener will join us, sharing the rich history and science behind Skagit Valley’s tulip cultivation. Enjoy a more meaningful visit, combining stunning scenery with engaging storytelling and horticultural knowledge.
3. Roozengaarde
Our tulip adventure begins at the sprawling tulip fields at Roozengaarde. Rozengaarde is the most famous of all the fields in the SV Tulip Festival with a 5 acre Display Garden and 50+ acres of tulip and daffodil fields.
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the meticulously landscaped Display Garden, showcasing more than 90 varieties of tulips, along with daffodils, hyacinths, crocuses, and specialty flowers. The display garden is annually redesigned and replanted by hand with over one million bulbs, ensuring a unique experience each year.
Behind the display garden, visitors can explore expansive fields filled with endless rows of tulips and daffodils, providing ample opportunities for photography and leisurely strolls amidst the vibrant blooms.
4. Kiwanis Salmon BBQ
There’s nothing more iconic to the PNW than a salmon BBQ! It’s the 70th year of the Kiwanis Salmon BBQ serving up local dishes to benefit the Mount Vernon community. All proceeds benefit local scholarships and give back to local youth and community programs.
