“Taste of Pike Place Market” or “Walking Food Tour of Pike Place Market” (called different things on the brochure versus the website) was the particular tour we went on. Our tour guide was Jerry, and he was great -a little bit of history, a bit of local trivia, and delicious treats at many different stops. Started the tour with a nice easy paced tea tasting at Vital Tea Leaf LLC that was very informative and delicious. From there it was nearly 3 hours of samosas, truffles, smoked salmon, fresh donuts, chowder…we were pleasantly full and fully satisfied. I would recommend this for tourists and locals alike.
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Carlton was the best tour guide we ever had. He was happy to share his knowledge of Seattle. Highlight was stopping at locks long enough to watch a boat go through. Would definitely recommend this tour and Carlton!
I used Show Me Seattle to book the Boeing tour and I was very pleased with the experience. Our driver Dave (also known as The Elvis Cab Driver) was an awesome tour guide through the city and had a lot of great information and trivia to share with our group. He made the experience fun and educational and I definitely learned a thing or two about this amazing city.
The pick up location was located right in front of Westlake Center in downtown. I was staying in the downtown area so it was only a 10 min walk. But I’ll mention that when booking the tour, you can arrange for hotel pickup if you pay an extra amount on top of your ticket.
The brief tour of the city, the visit to Boeing facility as well as The Future of Flight is all included in your ticket. Well worth it;)
We took the 3 Hour City Tour of Seattle and had Carlton as our guide. He really made the tour great! He knew a TON about the city sites we saw and communicated it very well. All the things he took us to were very interesting and we covered a lot of ground. This was one of our favorite things in our week in Seattle!
Our tour was scheduled for the morning of 9/10/15. While waiting for the van to arrive, we received a call that they were running late due to a theft of their vans during the night. James arrived and was very apologetic and sorry for being late, and told us we were having to go in an old van that was in the back, not being used, and was to be sold. Certainly not his fault. After picking up the others, one of the stops was at the Ballard Locks; Fish Ladder, where people left items in the van and James locked it. When we got back, the key would not open the van. James “borrowed” a sign from a yard and got the door open (replaced the sign), and off we went. A short time later, the van ran out of gas. By this time, most of us were laughing, but poor James was stressed. He called the owner to bring gas. In the meantime, a good samaritan stopped and offered some gas he had in a gas container. It was enough to get us going and James stopped at the next gas station to get more gas, and call the owner. The owner offered to meet us in the fish market and buy lunch, which we did. After lunch, we were off again. James did an excellent job of showing and telling us about places throughout the day, even with all of the things that came up. We would definitely recommend Show Me Seattle Tours to see the city. Thanks again James!!!!!
Show Me Seattle arrived a few minutes ahead of our scheduled pickup and made our getting on board the coach as easy as possible for two ladies with walking and step climbing issues. Our tour guide, Carlton, was both knowledgeable and entertaining! We saw a number of the usual spots and few not expected. Always courteous and friendly, assisting the group as needed. Highly recommend this tour for seeing as much of Seattle as possible in a short period of time!
This tour is exactly what you need to see all of Seattle. We had a great tour guide in Dave who took us everywhere, nothing was too much trouble. The tour lasted about 3 to 4 hours Dave was so enthusiastic and informative about the City. This is a must do tour.
Did the Boeing facility tour on Sept.04.2015 with James. Overall a well organized and fun event, a must if you are fascinated with flight and happen to be in Seattle. James is enthusiastic about aviation and leaves enough flexibility during the tour, so that we had time to watch some aircraft landing and took a drive around to see the test facilities which was amazing! Thumbs up!
Show Me Seattle is a great way to see and learn about the city. Our tour guide, Tavier, was excellent from start to finish. He is passionate about the tour and it showed. His knowledge of the city and places he took us was comprehensive and organized in the time allotted. His platform was comfortable and there was space for questions and answers along the way. There were spots where he parked the bus and we walked a short distance to locations while listening to his fun stories and information. This made for a more interesting experience. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it.
We would thoroughly recommend a trip with Dave/ Elvis who went ‘above and beyond’ in terms of time and effort. As a way of getting a taste of Seattle, this couldn’t be beaten. We learned more in a few hours about what makes the place tick than we could have learned in days on our own with a guidebook. He is as interesting in himself as some of the things that he shows, which makes it all the better. (Suggest you Google ‘elvis Seattle cab driver’). Pick up and drop off from hotel (or anywhere) is a bonus.
We booked this tour through the Victoria Clipper people(Clipper Vacations) and we were glad we did! Dave(aka Elvis) was our driver/guide and his knowledge and professionalism were second to none. We had a very informative tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Please take this tour before you do anything else in Seattle and you will then know exactly what to do, and what NOT to do (e.g. don’t take the Harbor Tour, just take a ferry to one of the islands and back, and you’ll see more, and it’ll cost you less!)
Thoroughly recommend this tour, Dave/Elvis will also explain that he was also an extra in Sleepless in Seattle! Quite a local celebrity!!
Excellent website, easy to book the tour. Punctual hotel pick-up. Dave, our driver was a wealth of great Seattle information. He was an outstandong driver in the Seattle traffic. Dave also watched our personal belongings while we were in Boeing. The Boeing tour itself was amazing!! The entire tour was well organzied, safe, worthwhile, and fun! Please do not miss this.
First, we were picked up at Pier 66 following our cruise. When we met James, he was friendly and enthusiastic. I knew that this was going to be a great experience. James was a wealth of knowledge, especially history. There wasn’t any question I had, from the “underground”, to Jimi Hendrix, that he wasn’t familiar with. First, he asked us if we had anything specific in mind that we wanted to see or do. Our first stop, was where James took our picture with our ship in the background. We then went to the Public Market where he pointed out the highlights, especially the “throwing fish stand.” The high-point for me, was our visit to the Kerry Park Viewpoint, where Mt. Rainier decided to show itself. It’s also a good overlook of Seattle, of which James pointed out some of the more important buildings. It’s also a great photo op! On the tour, we also visited the Fisherman’s Center Wharf, and the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, where there is a fish ladder, and a series of locks for boats to pass through. We were fortunate to see a boat passing through while there. All throughout the tour, James shared with us information about what we were passing by. James also shared with us as a snack, cookies that are produced locally in Seattle. Throughout the tour, James was mindful of our needs, which was especially appreciated, as our daughter is on the Autism spectrum. As the tour drew to a close, James drove us to our hotel. Before he left, he even helped us carry our luggage inside! We were definitely not disappointed with “Show Me Seattle”, or James.
Three generations of the family joined Dave/Elivs on his “Show Me Seattle Tour” and we all had a great time! Dave was lots of fun and his tour was well-organized. He was prompt in picking us up at our hotel and courteous [and humorous] throughout. Dave is quite well informed regarding Seattle’s history, neighborhoods, and fishing industry. If you have a half-day in Seattle and want to see the sights and actually learn something about the area you are visiting, I would highly recommend this Tour.
Carlton is one of our “all time” favorite tour guide. He arrive at our hotel on time per the firm’s email. Carlton was warm and informative. During our drive to the Boeing facility in Everett, we were provided with information on all locations on the way. The skies cleared and we learned about the mountains surrounding the city. After the Boeing tour with Boeing guides, Carlton answered our questions and provided more information on the drive back to Seattle.
My wife and I had good deal from Alaska Airlines and the hotel Mayflower Park Seattle. Quick Four night getaway. All the stars aligned for us and fri nod who never had been to Seattle. We thought the Show Me Seattle Tour, approx 3 hrs would be good to do again we asked for Tavier but he was off. He’s great and knows lots history. He was off that day. We got Carlton and what a fun guy! He is really knowable about facts 84 miles land city and geography land sea. Great humor lets you ask questions. He took us in different route and thru city. Loved seeing Queen Ann area and the Traider Joe’s as were from Calif and it’s a staple there. We like to see how people live especially in such urban city center area with high rise condos and apartments. Loved Ballard locks again even in rain and 50 F. We’re in drought in California so nice not to have 80 -90 F Christmas Season. Great tour . He made my wife feel safe again like Tavier as he put wife’s walker in van and helped her get on off van. Anyone who wants overview Seattle do this tour! We were here May and spent two days Seattle after Alaskan Cruise. We will do Boeing Tour when in town again.
We took my 88 year old dad on the morning tour of the Boeing plant and had a great time. Carlton, the driver-guide was very informative and personable. He was also very helpful in getting us a wheelchair at the last minute for my dad, who decided he didn’t feel up to walking the full tour.
The plant was fascinating and fun.
We truly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend it!
Wife and I took the 3 hour city tour and enjoyed it very much. Our driver Dave (Elvis cab driver) was fun, funny, friendly, and had a lot of great insights on the city. I enjoyed his corny jokes but also appreciated the “non-touristy” tidbits on the city he would share along the way. He’d talk through the commissioned talking points then add the gritty underbelly historic aspects of the city which I thought was very cool, especially the bit about the Panama Hotel and its part during the Japanese internment fiasco.
Highly recommend this tour. It’s a great way to see the major Seattle spots and also hit up some amazing viewpoints for breathtaking photos.
We had a limited time in Seattle, so this tour was a perfect solution. Carlton was very nice and informative with indepth knowledge of geological formations of the area and an indomitable enthusiasm for the city. We lucked out with the weather, too, so the view was spectacular!
We took the Seattle City Tour and we are so glad we did. Our tour guide (Tavier) was so knowledgeable…there wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer. He pointed out so many spots of interest, educated us on the city’s history, and we stopped to view several great areas. He drove safely and was accommodating to all the travel needs of the people touring. Highly recommend to comprehensively see probably one of the most beautiful cities in the country.
If you are visiting Seattle and have limited time to get to know the city I highly recommend this tour company. We were able to book the night before and jump on a 10 am. tour that lasted 3 hours. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and if you end up with Carlton your tour will be fantastic. Carlton really made the tour with his stories about the history of Seattle as well as personal stories of his while living in Seattle. We were late meeting the group due to a miscommunication but Carlton turned around to drive back to our hotel and pick us up so that we didn’t miss the tour. He hit all the great spots in the city and knew his way around like the back of his hand. We saw some sites we would most likely not have seen on our own. It’s a good idea to do the tour at the beginning of your trip so that in case you see a place you like you can go back during your visit and spend more time there. I had planned to take the Duck tour but it was shut down so I luckily was referred this company. It’s a must do in Seattle!
This is an excellent tour to become familiar with the sites, history, and things to do in Seattle. Our tour Guide…Elvis was a Seattle native who added additional history and insight on the tour. He also recommended short cuts to get to popular places and economical touring information. Kudos Elvis. 😉 I highly recommend this tour.
A friend and I took the Taste of Pike Place Market today. We were impressed with the tour guide’s knowledge along with the diversity and quality of the food we sampled along the tour. Jerry was funny, and with his historical knowledge was a passionate ambassador for Pike Place. I highly recommend this tour. You will leave pleasantly surprised about hidden gems in the market.
First of all, Carlton was AMAZING! He is informative and funny without trying…some tour guides try too hard…he was great and made everyone feel right at home. Even when the low clouds blocked our view at Kerry park he tried to take us other places where we could see the view. When we hit unexpected traffic he took back roads to be sure we got where we needed to go. The bus was comfortable and had seat belts…it’s the mom in me 🙂 My teenage boys enjoyed the sites and history everywhere we went. I highly recommend!
Great morning with a very knowledgeable, friendly guide! If you want a fun morning filled with great aviation information, history and laughs, join this tour! The weekend tour was great and I’d also recommend going on a weekday to see the hustle and bustle of the busy factory floor!
LOVED the Boeing factory tour. This was my favorite activity on my recent trip to Seattle. I could have spent the whole day at the factory, but I understand why it is not possible. Security and safety are a priority. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The bus driver that drove us to the plant was born and raised in Seattle. He pointed out many great things about the city along the way. The lady who guided our tour throught the plant, has been involved with the Boeing plant for many years and you could tell her heart was in it! If you are visiting Seattle, this tour is a must!!
