“Taste of Pike Place Market” or “Walking Food Tour of Pike Place Market” (called different things on the brochure versus the website) was the particular tour we went on. Our tour guide was Jerry, and he was great -a little bit of history, a bit of local trivia, and delicious treats at many different stops. Started the tour with a nice easy paced tea tasting at Vital Tea Leaf LLC that was very informative and delicious. From there it was nearly 3 hours of samosas, truffles, smoked salmon, fresh donuts, chowder…we were pleasantly full and fully satisfied. I would recommend this for tourists and locals alike.
I used Show Me Seattle to book the Boeing tour and I was very pleased with the experience. Our driver Dave (also known as The Elvis Cab Driver) was an awesome tour guide through the city and had a lot of great information and trivia to share with our group. He made the experience fun and educational and I definitely learned a thing or two about this amazing city.
The pick up location was located right in front of Westlake Center in downtown. I was staying in the downtown area so it was only a 10 min walk. But I’ll mention that when booking the tour, you can arrange for hotel pickup if you pay an extra amount on top of your ticket.
The brief tour of the city, the visit to Boeing facility as well as The Future of Flight is all included in your ticket. Well worth it;)
This tour is exactly what you need to see all of Seattle. We had a great tour guide in Dave who took us everywhere, nothing was too much trouble. The tour lasted about 3 to 4 hours Dave was so enthusiastic and informative about the City. This is a must do tour.
Did the Boeing facility tour on Sept.04.2015 with James. Overall a well organized and fun event, a must if you are fascinated with flight and happen to be in Seattle. James is enthusiastic about aviation and leaves enough flexibility during the tour, so that we had time to watch some aircraft landing and took a drive around to see the test facilities which was amazing! Thumbs up!
We would thoroughly recommend a trip with Dave/ Elvis who went ‘above and beyond’ in terms of time and effort. As a way of getting a taste of Seattle, this couldn’t be beaten. We learned more in a few hours about what makes the place tick than we could have learned in days on our own with a guidebook. He is as interesting in himself as some of the things that he shows, which makes it all the better. (Suggest you Google ‘elvis Seattle cab driver’). Pick up and drop off from hotel (or anywhere) is a bonus.
We booked this tour through the Victoria Clipper people(Clipper Vacations) and we were glad we did! Dave(aka Elvis) was our driver/guide and his knowledge and professionalism were second to none. We had a very informative tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Please take this tour before you do anything else in Seattle and you will then know exactly what to do, and what NOT to do (e.g. don’t take the Harbor Tour, just take a ferry to one of the islands and back, and you’ll see more, and it’ll cost you less!)
Thoroughly recommend this tour, Dave/Elvis will also explain that he was also an extra in Sleepless in Seattle! Quite a local celebrity!!
Excellent website, easy to book the tour. Punctual hotel pick-up. Dave, our driver was a wealth of great Seattle information. He was an outstandong driver in the Seattle traffic. Dave also watched our personal belongings while we were in Boeing. The Boeing tour itself was amazing!! The entire tour was well organzied, safe, worthwhile, and fun! Please do not miss this.
First, we were picked up at Pier 66 following our cruise. When we met James, he was friendly and enthusiastic. I knew that this was going to be a great experience. James was a wealth of knowledge, especially history. There wasn’t any question I had, from the “underground”, to Jimi Hendrix, that he wasn’t familiar with. First, he asked us if we had anything specific in mind that we wanted to see or do. Our first stop, was where James took our picture with our ship in the background. We then went to the Public Market where he pointed out the highlights, especially the “throwing fish stand.” The high-point for me, was our visit to the Kerry Park Viewpoint, where Mt. Rainier decided to show itself. It’s also a good overlook of Seattle, of which James pointed out some of the more important buildings. It’s also a great photo op! On the tour, we also visited the Fisherman’s Center Wharf, and the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, where there is a fish ladder, and a series of locks for boats to pass through. We were fortunate to see a boat passing through while there. All throughout the tour, James shared with us information about what we were passing by. James also shared with us as a snack, cookies that are produced locally in Seattle. Throughout the tour, James was mindful of our needs, which was especially appreciated, as our daughter is on the Autism spectrum. As the tour drew to a close, James drove us to our hotel. Before he left, he even helped us carry our luggage inside! We were definitely not disappointed with “Show Me Seattle”, or James.
Three generations of the family joined Dave/Elivs on his “Show Me Seattle Tour” and we all had a great time! Dave was lots of fun and his tour was well-organized. He was prompt in picking us up at our hotel and courteous [and humorous] throughout. Dave is quite well informed regarding Seattle’s history, neighborhoods, and fishing industry. If you have a half-day in Seattle and want to see the sights and actually learn something about the area you are visiting, I would highly recommend this Tour.
Carlton is one of our “all time” favorite tour guide. He arrive at our hotel on time per the firm’s email. Carlton was warm and informative. During our drive to the Boeing facility in Everett, we were provided with information on all locations on the way. The skies cleared and we learned about the mountains surrounding the city. After the Boeing tour with Boeing guides, Carlton answered our questions and provided more information on the drive back to Seattle.
